Mount Torrens Vineyard is a very small family owned vineyard in the cool climate Adelaide Hills. Planted by David Thompson and Glenn Easton (late) in 1996, Mount Torrens vineyard grows only Shiraz and Viognier. The wines which are one hundred percent estate grown are marketed under the Solstice brand name. The vineyard has been managed from day one to produce extremely low yields ensuring high quality wines that show their unique regionality. Traditional winemaking techniques used by Barossa winemakers David Powell and Dan Standish further enchance the wines.

Solstice Mount Torrens vineyard estate crafts wines from Shiraz and Vioginer using high quality French Oak and traditional winemaking techniques ensuring excellent fruit and wood integration. Solstice MTV produces Shiraz, Shiraz Viognier and also Viognier wines. The Shiraz Viognier is a true co-fermented wine with both varieties harvested on the same day and then fermented together in the French tradition. The concept is to develop these three specialist wines to truly represent these varieties in the Adelaide Hills.

“The power of the cabernet takes the wine into yet another with cassis and blackcurrant joining the fray; retains grace and has lovely length and finish.”
